7 DAY ROUTE

Meghalaya 7 Day Itinerary

Seven days supports a broader road trip with fewer rushed transfers and enough flexibility for weather, walking ability and current conditions.

Day 1 — Guwahati to Shillong

Arrive through Umiam and use the evening to settle in. Avoid committing to a long sightseeing list after a flight or train journey.

Day 2 — Shillong and Khasi Hills

Explore selected city, viewpoint and cultural stops in a logical loop. Keep traffic and opening hours in mind.

Day 3 — Shillong to Sohra

Move to Sohra and combine waterfalls, caves and viewpoints according to the season. Overnight nearby to reduce backtracking.

Day 4 — Sohra or Nongriat

Choose a trekking-focused day or a gentler sightseeing plan. Travellers with limited mobility should avoid adding steep paths merely to fill the schedule.

Day 5 — Mawlynnong to Dawki

Travel toward the southern Khasi Hills, checking river clarity and weather before prioritising Dawki or Shnongpdeng activities.

Day 6 — Jaintia Hills

Use a dedicated day for Krang Suri, Wei Sawdong alternatives where appropriate, or another Jowai-side route. Confirm access locally because waterfall conditions can change.

Day 7 — Return to Guwahati

Keep the final transfer realistic and leave a generous departure buffer. Adjust the previous night when the flight or train timing is early.
